Chapter 5: Enabler Configuration Utility

TheEnablercanbeconfiguredusingthreemethods:theEnablerconfigurationutility,the

AvalancheEnablerconfigurationpackage,andthroughtheEnablerinterface(ClickFile >

Settings).

TheEnablerconfigurationutilityisaccessedfromtheWavelink Product Configurationwindow

wheninstallingtheEnabler(seeConfiguringtheEnableronpage5).TheAvalancheEnabler

configurationpackageisaddedtoasoftwareprofileinAvalanche,configured,andthen

deployedwirelesslytothedevice(seeConfiguringtheAvalancheEnablerConfiguration

Packageonpage9).

NOTE:Defaultvaluesandtheavailabilityofsomeoptionsmayvarybasedonthedeviceand

themethodyouusetoconfiguretheEnabler.Forexample,ifyouaccesstheconfiguration

utilityfromtheAvalancheConsole,theNetwork,Name Server,andWirelesstabswillnot

bepresent,becausethesettingsareconfiguredinanetworkprofile.

FromtheEnablerconfigurationutility,youcanconfiguretheconnectivity,performance,and

displayoftheEnabler.Thefollowingsectionsgiveinformationonconfiguringtheseoptions:

Configuring Connectivity

YoucanconfigurethenetworkandwirelesssettingsfortheEnablerfromtheconfiguration

utility.Thisincludesconfiguringtheconnectiontotheserveroveraserial,WiFiorWWAN

connection,schedulingperiodicupdates,andsettingtheAvalancheserveraddress,DNSand

DCHPaddresses,SSIDandencryption.
